Only Five Weeks Left

We praise the Lord for all those who have prayed and participated in this project. We have now received the money needed to purchase the land and have $500 dollars to start the construction of the church building. That leaves only about $4000 left to be able to finish the second stage of this project. Please continue to pray for this need because we only have about 5 weeks until the building has to be built. The church in now meeting in a rented building and their lease runs out at the end of September at which time the owner no longer wants to rent. That means that at that time the church will have to look for somewhere else to meet if the new building is not ready. Most places require at least a year lease which will make it difficult to find somewhere temporary. We are praying and trusting the Lord to supply the remainder of the funds to finish this project. Please pray with us that we might meet our deadline and what the Lord might have you to do. All that is needed is 8 more churches or individuals that will commit to give $500 and we can meet our goal. If the Lord would have you participate please send all gifts to the address below and if possible let us know by calling or emailing so that we can count you toward reaching our goal.

Great Days

We praise the Lord for several great days in the church recently. This past Sunday we had over 60 in attendance and today we had almost 70 in the service with our people working hard bringing visitors to most services. This past Wednesday after the service one of the men that has been coming for some time raised his hand for salvation. After sharing the Word of God with him he trusted Christ as Savior. Also on Saturday night I was able to lead one of the teenagers to the Lord that has come from time to time to our youth meeting and today at the end of the service one of the ladies that recently started coming to church raised her hand and after being dealt with trusted Christ as her Savior. In all this past week we had around 5 or 6 professions of faith.  We praise the Lord for these recent blessings and look forward to more in the future.

Over Half Way There

Over the past few weeks it has been amazing to see how the Lord has blessed and provided through your prayers and giving for the need for the church in Cobija. We have divided the project into two stages the first being the purchasing of a lot and then building a church building. When we started we were praying for $5200 to purchase the land and $5000 to build the church building and the transfer of paperwork. The Lord has given us a tremendous victory and we have now been able to purchase the land needed and will be finalizing the paperwork in the next few weeks. With this first stage finished we are now beginning the second stage of this project. We are praying that the second stage might be finished by the end of September when their current lease runs out. Our goal is to have them a basic building constructed by that time so they won’t have to look for a new place to rent and sign another lease while their current building is under construction. All that is needed now is 8 more churches or individuals to commit to giving $500 and we will be able to complete both stages so that they will have a place to meet for church. We would like to thank each of you who have given and prayed for this need. The Lord has given us one great victory and we are trusting Him now to give us another so that we can continue to reach the people of Cobija and Bolivia with the gospel. Please continue to pray for this need and maybe about what the Lord would have you do. If the Lord would have you participate please send all gifts to the address below and if possible let us know by calling or emailing so that we can count you toward reaching our goal.

Wednesday Night Blessings

While it is typical that in most churches the Wednesday night crowd is less than the other services the Lord has blessed us with some amazing services on this night. Several times we have had our record attendance for this service. This past Wednesday we had one of those times with our highest attendance for a regular service since we started the church. We had 62 in attendance and thanks to the hard work of some of our members we had 7 visiting for the first time. This is truly amazing seeing that this was not a special meeting but just their desire to see people in church. Several of those visiting have returned and the Lord gave us a great meeting. Please continue to pray for us and those leaders that are beginning to show fruit.
